During a recent training session, one of our pupil librarians expressed a wish to start up a chess club in the library.
We decided to do what we could to help him and today the first meeting took place. Members arrived with their packed lunches and an eagerness that was obvious as soon as they came through the door. They were a mix of beginners and established chess players but the more able players quickly paired up with the ‘newbies’ and began to teach the game. The buzz was amazing and we hope they continue to enjoy their regular Wednesday lunchtime slot. Well done to Matthew for setting it all up!
