Sport has played a big part in the life of all our pupils throughout the history of the school. Successive P.E. and many other staff have ensured that pupils have experienced fun and success along with the many other skills, qualities and values which after-school and Saturday morning sport offers. The guiding tenet of sport in Killicomaine is to present all pupils with the opportunity to take part and choose from the wide and varied menu of sports on offer. Alongside this offer of participation is the opportunity to strive to represent the school in local, provincial and national tournaments and championships.
Boys can do so in Rugby, Soccer, Hockey and Tennis while girls participate and compete in Hockey, Netball, Volleyball and Tennis. Both boys and girls are entered in X-Country and Athletics at District level with many individuals and teams regularly qualifying for Ulster Finals.
In recent years the school has enjoyed much success across all sports with many finals contested and trophies won in Hockey, Rugby and Netball. The boys have been successful in rugby at Ulster level, winning the Year 8 and Year 10 trophies for High Schools and acquitting themselves well in one-day tournaments and on Saturday mornings against the top schools in the province.
The sporting highlight in recent years has been the outstanding achievement of the U14 Girls Junior Cup Squad. This U14 team has won the N.I.Junior Cup twice in the last four years, defeating Lurgan Junior High School and Strathearn in these finals at Stormont.
