Killicomaine Junior High School PE Department contributes completely to the National Curriculum aims of developing pupils as individuals, contributors to society, and as contributors to the economy and environment.

 

The PE Department aims to:

 

  • Provide pupils with regular, frequent and appropriate physical activity opportunities, information and guidance.

  • Encourage and empower pupils to make informed and responsible choices about the role of physical activity in their lives.

 

The broad and balanced PE curriculum will promote the development of Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities through:

  • 2 fully equipped gymnasiums with stores

  • 4 changing rooms- all with shower access

  • 2 grass areas- dual purpose for rugby and football

  • Astro hockey pitch

  • All weather area which includes 2x full-sized hockey pitches

  • Athletics track (summer term)

  • 4 enclosed Astro tennis courts, and 3 lower tennis courts (tarmac)

  • 3 Astro netball courts, 2 tarmac and 2 indoor netball courts

  • Cross country courses within school grounds
