The
N.Ireland v England football match (Sept 2005) was a night I will
never forget. I was delighted when my dad told me he had been able
to get two tickets. I was excited about going to the match, mainly
because I couldn't wait to see the famous players like David Beckham,
Ashley Cole, Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard. I didn't want to see
Wayne Rooney though, as I think he has a bad attitude.
Northern
Ireland, being the underdogs, were not expected to do very well in
this game, which was part of the World Cup qualifiers.
The
crowd were delighted when the home team played very well, but when
David Healy scored what turned out to be the winning goal, the packed
stadium erupted.
My
dad and I jumped for joy, as did every Northern Ireland supporter.
It was one of the best moments of my life. When the final whistle
blew we all stood cheering and singing for about 15 minutes and the
Northern Ireland team did a lap of honour.
