3. At KJHS we strive to meet the educational needs of all our pupils in accordance with our stated school aims.
4. We will ensure that SEN Policy will be accessible through the school website.
5. Governors will be updated on S.E.N. issues when necessary, by the SENCo.
WHO
IS RESPONSIBLE?
Everyone
in KJHS, Governors, Staff, pupils and parents – have a positive and active
part achieving our S.E.N. aims:
Governors - by fulfilling their statutory duties to pupils with Special Educational Needs, by securing appropriate resources, by establishing and reviewing a policy which has regard to the Code of Practice (200) and by participating in appropriate training and by appointing a responsible governor who will inform the other governors on S.E.N. issues on a regular basis.
Staff – by acting on the principle that every member of staff is directly responsible for mee4ting the needs of all pupils, by working in partnership with the SENCo, parents and other agencies by participating in appropriate training and completing Individual Education Plans.
Pupils – by having their wishes about their own needs regularly sought and carefully considered.
Parents – through consultation and by working in partnership with the school to help meet the child’s S.E.N.
Outside Agencies – by responding to requests and giving specialised assistance when required.
The SEN Policy is available to all parents on request.
