In December 2002, 9th year classes visited St.Patrick's Centre in Downpatrick to find out more about our patron saint.

We visited the exhibition, and then filled in questionnaires with all the information we had discovered about St Patrick.

We were shown the tools a monk would have used in a monastery to copy scriptures on to a manuscript. We were allowed to take a feather and paper to try to write using calligraphy as the monks would have done.

We took a virtual helicopter ride around the sites in Ireland associated with St Patrick. It was so realistic that some pupils felt dizzy and sick!
Before returning to school we had the opportunity to buy gifts in the shop, rounding off a memorable day.
