On October 14th 2008 five pupils from each of 9B1 and 9B2 went to Stranmillis University College for Maths Week in Ireland.

Kjartan Poskitt, the author of the book named Murderous Maths, was talking to us. He was a lot of fun and put things in a way that we could understand. He also told interesting stories about some of the first people who practised maths. It was a very visual presentation and this made it extremely enjoyable to listen to and to take part in. A fascinating fact he showed us involved the number 1089, how that after a sequence of calculations the answer always seemed to be the number 1089.

I really enjoyed myself and I hope Kjartan will keep doing his presentation for years to come, as it was a great day out.
