As
part of our English department's continuing campaign to promote
reading, we held an end-of-year Book Quiz for our Year 8 pupils.
The quiz took place on Friday 20 June, from 1.45 - 3.25pm.
Each quiz team had representatives from each class.
Year
8 pupils made up the teams
All
pupils had been given a reading list of 12 books. To enable everyone
to participate, our list included class novels plus titles to
suit a wide range of abilities and interests. Questions were based
on the titles listed, plus general rounds on Children's Literature.
The
quizmasters - teachers from the English department.
After
the quiz, a short afternoon break allowed the score sheets to
be checked to determine winners. Year 10 pupils acted as scorers.
Team and individual prizes were then awarded.

The
students really enjoyed the event and we hope it helped inspire
them to develop a lifetime love of reading.
The
teams wait to hear the final results of the quiz.
The
English department would like to thank all those who supported
this event.
